Being given the title theme ‘Control and Activism’ makes you question how much control we actually have over our lives. After initially brainstorming the theme, I thought it would be pretty interesting to look into this. One way we definitely have the option of expressing ourselves is through fashion. From the choices we make when we paint ourselves with makeup in the morning, what clothes assemblages we create, tattoos we get and jewellery we wear says a lot about who we are but also what we are trying to communicate about ourselves to other people.
However, to what extent do we actually control what we wear? Many people may be too shy or in fear of being ridiculed to wear what they actually want to but unlike them, above my models, Bailey and Ella proudly exhibit there own sense of styles which I think says a lot about who they are.
I’d like to take this topic further by looking into whether or not we can control the majority of our choices and lives.
